About the Role This is a critical leadership role, overseeing all active projects from award through to practical completion. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll be on the ground most of the time (around 80%), working shoulder-to-shoulder with your foremen, clients, and delivery teams. The other 20% is spent in the office managing programme updates, scheduling, materials, and key client and internal comms. You’ll be expected to take full accountability for project delivery—not just push paper. You’ll know the scope, the risks, and the moving parts of every job and be the first point of contact for resolving issues, communicating with clients, and guiding your team. You’ll also be responsible for: Coordinating job scheduling across a team of up to 100 across multiple sites Working closely with the estimating team to understand scope and manage variations early Overseeing documentation, invoicing, programme updates, and site readiness Leading pre-start meetings and ensuring site teams are set up to succeed Building solid relationships with clients and foremen alike—earning their trust and holding it You’ll be someone who doesn’t need to be handheld or micromanaged—someone who the MD can rely on to make decisions, take feedback, and move with integrity. About You You’re an experienced tradesperson with a strong background in managing large commercial painting projects. You’re confident, capable, and people trust you because you’ve done the work—and you show up consistently.
