Australia’s favourite outdoor cinema is searching for a Venue Manager to lead operations for Moonlight Cinema Melbourne, located in the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. Moonlight Cinema is a summer tradition that combines the magic of film with the buzz of a festival atmosphere. For our guests, it’s more than just movies – it’s a chance to relax under the stars with friends and family. We pride ourselves on respectfully activating green spaces and working closely with a variety of stakeholders, including internal suppliers, sponsors, and our valued Botanic Gardens partners. This role is ideal for an experienced team leader with a passion for events and delivering exceptional guest experiences. About the role Manage daily operations, including site set-up and pack-down Coordinate season bump-in and bump-out, including production scheduling Lead a team of ~60 onsite crew, working closely with the Assistant Venue Manager Recruit, train, and develop staff Manage food & beverage operations (ordering, invoice processing, and stock control) Oversee sponsorship activations and ensure contractual deliverables are delivered to a high standard Prepare rosters and manage payroll AV operations, including screen and audio set-up and content management Implement management plans and ensure WHS compliance Work primarily afternoon–evening shifts (with the exception of shifts allocated for administration) This role is a Fixed-Term, Full Time Contract which will run from 14 October 2025 - 17 April 2026 About You The ideal candidate will bring: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role Previous experience in food and beverage and customer service Cinema management or event management experience (advantageous) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Initiative, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills Ability to quickly learn new systems, processed and operational requirements Experience leading and motivating a casual workforce Strong stakeholder management skills and time management skills A collaborative approach with a can-do attitude Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Required: Current RSA and valid driver's license Benefits & perks At EVT, we want our people to experience our brands and become true advocates from day one.
