Why this role Matters: The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey. About the Role: As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Refuge), you will deliver robust assessments, crisis response, and advanced case management to adult and child victim survivors in long-term refuges and transitional housing. You’ll work intensively with individuals and families to move them from crisis to safety and longer-term accommodation, coordinating holistic supports and advocating for their needs. The role operates within the Victorian Family Violence Supported Accommodation and Afterhours Crisis Response Services, with primary duties in Coburg North and service delivery across the northern Melbourne suburbs. This is a permanent full time opportunity classified as a SCHADS 5.
