The key duties of the position include The Role As an APS 6 Products Logistics Integration Officer in the Directorate of Maritime Engineering and Logistics (DMEL), you will support the integration of new capabilities into the Naval Logistics Information System (NLIS). Based in Canberra, you will work with stakeholders across Defence, Navy and industry to coordinate the transition of acquisition projects into sustainment. You will play a key role in delivering system planning, technical support, and logistics implementation activities. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating NLIS integration activities and planning project implementation Supporting transition of new business units and logistics projects into the NLIS Facilitating technical workshops and meetings with stakeholders Providing updates and reports to the user community Leading data migration and business change activities Coordinating efforts across Defence to resolve system and data issues Engaging with internal and external subject matter experts This is a dynamic and varied role that contributes directly to improved logistics outcomes and the long-term sustainability of Navy capability. About our Team DMEL enables the Navy to manage its fleet effectively by delivering standardised logistics and engineering solutions. We integrate people, tools, processes, and data to improve decision-making and asset performance. As the business owner of the Naval Asset Management System, DMEL provides governance and assurance for key logistics functions within NLIS-covering configuration, maintenance, and supply support. Our focus is on optimising asset performance, enhancing decision-making, and ensuring efficient, cost-effective fleet management. We work closely with Navy, Defence Digital Group, and industry partners to deliver consistent logistics capabilities across the organisation. As an APS 6 Products Logistics Integration Officer, you will work across multiple stakeholder groups to support the delivery and sustainment of NLIS capabilities. To succeed in this role, you will bring: Project management skills, ideally in a logistics or technical environment Experience working across a product lifecycle (acquisition to sustainment to retirement) Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination abilities Ability to coordinate and manage data, tools and processes Broad logistics or asset management knowledge While Defence or naval experience is not required, a willingness to learn and collaborate is essential.
