Minimum Requirements: Minimum AQF Certificate III in a relevant field with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Key Responsibilities: Accompanying aged and disabled persons during daily activities in various environments to help them improve their independence, achieve their goals and support their choice and control. Assisting clients with their mobility in range of personal activities including hygiene care, use of manual handling equipment, medication administration, domestic assistance, assistance with meals. Preparing food for clients, performing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming and cleaning Arranging social activities, providing companionship, friendship and emotional support Assisting in personal hygiene and dressing Assist with shopping and run errands for clients. Support people within both group settings and 1-on-1 arrangements. Assist participants with the range of personal activities including hygiene care, use of manual handling equipment, medication administration, domestic assistance, assistance with meals. Use your own initiative to assist clients to work towards their goals and follow specific care plans and positive behaviour support plans (PBSP) and recording observations in individual care notes You will be someone that is engaging and will have amazing skills in motivating others including strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with a range of people in a variety of situations Skills & Qualities Required: 24-hour care model- staff are required to work a combination of shifts –morning (from 6am), afternoon (from 2pm) and overnight (active or passive) assisting clients with their mobility You are compassionate, empathetic, respectful and non-judgmental with strong listening and verbal communication skills and the ability to cope well under pressure. You will have a proactive and positive attitude, caring nature, and exceptional communication skills. You genuinely want to enrich the lives of others.
