They are a full IT solutions provider that offers a range of expertise targeting the Financial Services, Communications, Retail, High-Technology and Government and Educational Sector industries through Australia. They now seek an experienced Hardware Technician to join the team in Epping, Victoria. The Role: This is a full time role with an annual salary set at $80,000 plus superannuation, and will be based in Epping, Victoria. The Responsibilities: Diagnosing hardware and software issues to provide effective solutions to technical problems. Responding to user inquiries and resolving software and hardware-related issues promptly and efficiently. Customizing and adapting existing programs to meet specific user requirements and system configurations. Installing and configuring software applications and operating systems on computers and other devices. Optimizing the use of applications and equipment to ensure efficient and reliable performance. Setting up and maintaining computer networks, including configuring routers, switches, and network peripherals. Designing, developing, and maintaining websites and web applications to support business needs. Repairing and replacing peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, and modems as needed. Conducting hardware upgrades and replacements to enhance system performance and capabilities. Performing preventive maintenance on computer hardware to prevent potential issues and ensure longevity. Collaborating with vendors and suppliers to source appropriate hardware and software solutions. Documenting hardware and software configurations, changes, and maintenance activities for accurate record-keeping. The Requirements: Relevant qualifications in IT or related At least 4 years experience as a hardware technician At least 4 years of relevant professional experience gained in a corporate setting At least 2 years' experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting dedicated server hardware, including enterprise-grade racks, blade servers, and high-density compute nodes At least 2 years' experience in security hardening of dedicated servers. At least 2 years' experience with BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware upgrades, and hardware-level virtualization support At least 2 years' experience in structured cabling (Cat6/6a, fibre optic splicing, patch panel installation) and rack-mounted hardware setup in enterprise environments Have strong knowledge on operating a computer and ability to learn new software and hardware Understanding of Microsoft applications Good at analytic especially analysis of technical issues Needs to be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude.
