Job Description The Production Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing operations. Leveraging a background in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, the role involves optimizing production workflows, managing resources, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer demands and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints. Capacity Planning: Analyze production capabilities and constraints to ensure optimal utilization of machinery, labor, and materials. Workflow Optimization: Apply mechanical/industrial engineering principles to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Inventory Management: Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components. Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor production performance metrics and generate reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, procurement, and logistics teams to align production plans with business goals. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, equipment issues, and scheduling conflicts. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Qualifications Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or other highly related field. 2–5 years of experience in production planning or manufacturing operations. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and mechanical systems. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Additional Information Preferred Attributes Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Familiarity with CAD software and technical drawings. Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and quality. Team-oriented with a proactive approach to collaboration.
