In this role, you'll: • Respond promptly to incidents on the transport or road network within the designated operational area, applying a whole-of-transport approach to incident management. • Assess incident response requirements, coordinate resources, and engage with relevant expert service providers to ensure safe and timely resolution. • Maintain operational readiness by actively monitoring key transport locations and assets, identifying congestion or disruptions, and escalating issues as required. • Liaise closely with NSW Police, emergency services, and other key stakeholders to minimise the impact of incidents on network operations. • Lead and direct field-based response teams at incident scenes, providing clear instructions and ensuring accurate, real-time information flow to the Transport Management Centre. • Gather, verify, and record detailed incident intelligence to inform decision-making, support incident debriefs, and contribute to continuous improvement in response strategies. • Monitor on-the-ground network performance, identifying operational issues and opportunities for improved incident management practices For more information, please view a copy of the role description & the information pack. About you • Minimum 10 year’s frontline emergency service experience with a strong understanding of statutory and regulatory frameworks governing incident response and regulatory services. • Proven ability to proactively identify and implement measures to prevent future incidents. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with highly developed verbal and written communication abilities to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. • Current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver’s licence, with the capability and comfort to spend the majority of working time on the road. • Willingness and ability to work outside regular business hours, including participation in a rostered “On Call” arrangement for up to 12 weeks per year, covering 24/7 incident response across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. • Ability to successfully pass employment screening and security checks, including a Police Probity Check. • Successful completion (or ability to complete) an Emergency Response Driving Course. • Residency within the Sydney Metropolitan Transport District. As this role is responsible for managing incidents across a wide operational area including Sydney CBD, Blue Mountains, Wollongong, Newcastle, Hunter Valley and other regional areas. • Ability to meet the requirements of a role-specific medical examination, demonstrating a good level of physical fitness and core strength to perform prolonged duties in challenging weather conditions.
