Job Description The APAC Manager of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is responsible for leading and executing the organization's EHS strategies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves managing and implementing comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures across all operational levels in APAC (AU/NZ). The EHS Manager will collaborate with various teams to drive continuous improvement in environmental and safety performance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. A key aspect of this role includes developing a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, aligning with the organizational goals of sustainability and inclusion. The position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking and the ability to influence others, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and innovation throughout the organization. Responsibilities: Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation across the organization to enhance safety practices. Influence and provide guidance to leadership on EHS matters to strengthen organizational commitment to safety. Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, which can include specific rules related to waste disposal. Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential hazards in manufacturing plants and other facilities. Arrange and coordinate risk assessments of processes and machinery with production personnel. Sustainability: Developing and implementing sustainability initiatives related to reducing environmental impact across all sites. Training: Developing and delivering training programs to employees on EHS procedures, promoting a robust safety culture and emergency response protocols. Incident Management: Investigating accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents to identify root causes. Oversee the implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Overseeing EHS programs and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic) and Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (NZ). Development of policy, training, and programmes to support compliance and culture. Driving continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance across all functions of the business. Provide leadership within the Health and Safety Team meetings. Drive performance and skill of the H&S teams. Assist managers with developing the necessary frameworks to manage the H&S requirements for their teams. Provide reporting and statistical analysis on a regular basis to leadership on relevant EHS issues. Provide input on safety aspects for Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) across the business. Qualifications Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety or related field required (Engineering, Health Science, etc). Experience in environmental health and safety management within a respected organization, focusing on compliance and standards. Knowledge of safety regulations in machinery. Proven leadership experience in managing and developing EHS teams, with a track record of cultivating a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. Experience in strategic planning and executing EHS programs and initiatives that align with organizational goals for sustainability and inclusion. Exposure to fostering collaboration and innovation to enhance safety practices across multiple departments and locations, including offices, manufacturing, warehousing and external customer sites.
