They play a critical role in fostering the holistic development of the students within a specific year group. The Inter-relationships Leader guides all aspects of students’ lives, committed to cultivating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment that empowers every student to achieve their personal best, build meaningful social connections and flourish emotionally. The Inter-relationships Leader must have a sound understanding of educational principles and best practices, as well as current trends within pastoral care. The Inter-relationships Leader must also have an exceptional understanding of adolescent development, wellbeing and safeguarding practices which are fundamental to establishing a safe and inclusive learning environment so that all may have life to the full. The Inter-relationships Leader reports to the Deputy Principal. This is a full-time ongoing position which commences in January 2026. Key Responsibilities: Develop a culture of collaboration within the year level that enhances student wellbeing and leads to improved outcomes for all students. Awareness and understanding of any issues that may affect students’ achievement, engagement or wellbeing and as required, advise staff members of supports required. Liaise, collaborate and communicate with parents and caregivers to support student outcomes. Work closely with members of the Wellbeing Team and Learning Support Team to provide comprehensive support for students experiencing significant behaviour, learning, wellbeing or health challenges. Collaborate with the Student Leadership Coordinator to oversee the student leadership program within the College. Lead the development and implementation of the pastoral care program to support student wellbeing. Guide the year-level group teachers in their delivery of the pastoral care program. Consistent and fair application of College’s Behaviour Support Guidelines, along with Good Standing Processes. Develop the leadership capacity of student LIFE leaders within the year-level. In collaboration with Learning Area Leaders, build the capacity of subject teachers to implement the College’s Behaviour Support Guidelines and foster positive relationships with their students. Provide and support a child-safe learning environment for all students. Monitor student attendance and academic progress. Provide opportunities for students to understand, articulate and celebrate the faith story of the College and, in particular, those related to the year level. Advocate and support the Catholic ethos, vision and mission of the College. Encourage student participation in Giving LIFE program and extracurricular activities within the College.Be an active member and voice in the Inter-relationships Team. Contribute to the management of key school events including orientation, assemblies, year group camps and Annual Celebration Evening as well as other year-group events that are connected to the relevant year group.
