They should be able to deliver a curriculum which is not only engaging, but is relevant and meaningful to students, balancing the need for theoretical rigour with practical application. Possessing the skills to differentiate the curriculum to cater for a broad range of abilities, including special needs, is important. Furthermore, they should work cooperatively with the Specialist Instrumental Music School Services School (IMSS) teachers, coordinating and continuing to develop a growing IMSS program. Willingness to coordinate out-of-hours events to provide students with real-life performance opportunities is highly desirable.
