Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1-2 - Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (PIMH) Karitane is seeking an experienced and qualified Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1-2 (based on level of experience) in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (PIMH) to work across Karitane services for a period up to January 2026. POSITION: Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1-2, Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (PIMH) HOURS: Temporary full-time, 40 hours per week, Sept–January 2026. Includes one allocated day off per 19 days. VACCINATION CATEGORY: A OPERATIONAL BASE: All Karitane sites RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager Perinatal, Infant & Child Mental Health Service (PICMHS) through to Director Clinical Services Responsibilities The CNC1/2 PICMH clinician will provide clinical expertise and promote development of Perinatal, Infant and Child Mental Health practice through the CNC list of domains and functions (NSW Health, 2017: IB2017_002). Karitane services are grounded in a strengths-based partnership model and are provided across multiple settings and services. The position may support regional and rural services as required. The CNC1/2 will be responsible for clinical support and capability development of staff and students, participate in the delivery of high-quality services, provide clinical leadership in practice, participate in education and research initiatives, and demonstrate leadership in the workplace. Essential Requirements Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA Current NSW Driver’s Licence Selection Criteria Each criterion must be addressed in your cover letter. Current nursing registration with AHPRA and 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience Postgraduate qualifications in perinatal & infant mental health or approved equivalent Advanced communication and interpersonal skills; experience applying the practice development framework to clinical practice Extensive knowledge of good clinical practice, policies and procedures in perinatal & infant mental health Ability to consult, review, and develop policies and procedures within the relevant specialty Computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and clinical information systems Ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team High-level formulation, documentation and report-writing skills Conditions of Employment Temporary full-time employment under the NSW Named Affiliated Health Organisations’ Nurse Agreement 2017. Karitane services operate across multiple sites in NSW. Karitane observes a two-week Christmas/New Year shutdown; employees are required to take leave. Karitane is a smoke-free environment.
