About the Role: We’re looking for compassionate, energetic Support Workers who can provide both structure and flexibility when supporting individuals with Autism, intellectual disabilities and non-verbal communication needs. You’ll need to be calm, confident and able to build trust while establishing consistent routines that help people feel safe and supported. The ideal candidate understands the importance of structure but can adapt to individual needs. This is a hands-on role that includes full support with daily living skills, along with a variety of shifts including sleepovers and active overnights. What You’ll Be Doing Deliver person-centred support to individuals with Autism, intellectual disabilities, and non-verbal communication needs Assist with daily living, personal care, and support community participation Encourage engagement in social and recreational activities that build independence Create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for each individual Follow individual routines and behaviour support plans with consistency Communicate effectively with the Accommodation Coordinator and clinical team Maintain accurate records, including progress notes and incident reports Attend training and team meetings to ensure quality care and NDIS compliance What we are looking for Experience working with high-intensity and complex behaviour clients A minimum of 2-years as a disability support worker You have or can obtain the following: Blue Card, WWCC and NDIS Screening/Yellow Card First Aid and CPR Certificate Drivers licence Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance Ideal but not mandatory: Cert IV in mental health or equivalent Strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills Benefits: Competitive pay including penalty rates plus super Clear pathways for career growth and advancement Be part of a purpose-driven organisation that values its people and makes a real impact in the community Enjoy consistency with regular working hours Ongoing training and professional development to support your success IHDS is committed to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for both staff and clients.
