About the Role The Environmental Field Technician role is an entry-level role, ideal for recent graduates, those nearing the completion of their studies and individuals beginning their career in environmental conservation. The full-time starting rate for this position is $33/hr superannuation. If you’re proactive, dedicated, and enthusiastic about protecting our environment, we’d love to hear from you! We also have positions for Senior Environmental Field Technicians , and Environmental Team Leaders for more experienced applicants with demonstrated leadership skills & industry experience. Key Responsibilities (what you’ll be doing on a daily basis as an Environmental Field Technician): Meeting and exceeding all workplace health & safety, quality and environmental standards. A range of weed management activities including application of herbicides Revegetation planting WA Native plant identification and weed identification (may be assessed at interview). Erosion control Building conservation fences Fire fuel load reduction Watering reveg sites Bushland maintenance including track pruning, slashing and rubbish removal Maintenance of tools and equipment including small motor and spray rigs. Interacting and communicating with others in the organisation – environmental coordinators, contract coordinators, horticultural team, environmental consultants and ecologists Required qualifications, training and licences: Successful applicants must have: Completed qualifications in Conservation, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or Environmental Management from TAFE or University WA Driver’s Licence Current first aid certification Recent police clearance OH&S White Card Successful applicants will be provided the following training: Chemical application and spraying course for basic weed control endorsement on a Pesticide Technician License (if not already held) Chainsaw training (if not already completed) On the job training for all other tasks including using small motor equipment, fence construction etc through our in-house training program & manuals, training videos and highly qualified staff including our dedicated Training & Quality Control Coordinators.
