About the Role Georges River Council is seeking a qualified and motivated Arborist to join our City Recreation team in a permanent full-time capacity. In this role, you will work collaboratively to deliver arboricultural services aligned with Council’s Tree Management Policy, Australian Standards (AS4373), and industry best practices. You’ll be responsible for assessing tree permit applications, responding to service requests, conducting tree risk assessments, and maintaining accurate records in Council’s tree management inventory system. The role requires both independent and team-based work, contributing to the care and management of public and private tree assets across the local area. As part of your responsibilities, you will support the planning and maintenance of Council’s urban forest by preparing documentation and data for tree asset management, assisting in the development of tree planting programs, and investigating incidents involving Council trees. You’ll provide expert advice to the community and internal stakeholders on tree-related matters, monitor the condition of public street trees, and help maintain the tree asset inventory. The role also involves preparing reports, investigating unauthorised tree removals, and supporting the Team Leader Tree Maintenance and Coordinator City Recreation with operational tasks as required.
