Biotech Accelerator Brisbane Innovation Leadership The Company Life Science Incubator (LSI), a biotech accelerator, is expanding its global footprint with the launch of its first Australian facility in Brisbane. Set to open in October 2025 at QIMR Berghofer, the new centre will serve as a dynamic biomedical innovation hub designed to foster collaboration among scientists, startups, investors, and industry leaders. This strategic initiative, in partnership with Altea Investments, aims to accelerate health innovation by providing purpose-built co-working laboratory spaces, infrastructure, and commercialisation support for emerging life science ventures. The Opportunity This role will launch and grow Australian operations for LSI and play a crucial role in the success of its flagship Brisbane facility: Develop and execute the Australian business plan in line with global strategy, positioning LSI as a leading player in the local life sciences sector. Identify and pursue opportunities for growth, partnerships, and ecosystem engagement across academia, industry, and government. Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure all licensing, safety, and environmental standards are met through robust compliance frameworks. Shape commercial strategy, oversee pipeline development, and lead outreach to key stakeholders including universities, corporates, and public agencies. Build and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture aligned with LSI's values through recruitment, coaching, and performance management. Take full accountability for Brisbane's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and reporting. Collaborate with HQ to tailor marketing strategies for the Australian market and represent LSI as its public-facing ambassador. The Requirements Degree qualification in life sciences, business or similar relevant field. Higher degree and/or MBA will be highly regarded. 10 years of experience in leadership or business operations within a life science industry. Proven track record of success in team leadership, stakeholder management, and business development within the life sciences ecosystem.
