This role is full time, with a preference for Sydney based, however, open to Gold Coast, Brisbane or Melbourne for the right candidate. We’re looking for a highly capable HR leader to partner closely with our hospital General Managers, guiding them to lead their teams with confidence, compliance, and care. With the People Coordinator and Payroll Officer reporting directly to you, you’ll have the support to focus on high impact initiatives while still staying connected to core HR operations. As the National HR Partner at Avive Health, you will work alongside experts in a supportive environment where everyone is treated with understanding, dignity, and respect. The Opportunity Reporting to the CEO, and working closely with the executive team, you will: Act as a trusted strategic advisor to hospital General Managers, empowering them to manage people matters confidently and compliantly. Develop and implement people strategies aligned with business goals, using data insights to drive engagement, retention, and performance. Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and succession initiatives to ensure the right people are in the right roles. Provide expert guidance on complex IR matters, awards, and EBAs, including leading or supporting negotiations. Oversee learning and development initiatives to build leadership capability and support professional growth. Deliver programs that improve the employee experience, including recognition, career development, and feedback. Lead organisational change, navigating varying levels of readiness and resistance. Manage performance, benefits, employee relations, and compliance while streamlining processes through HR systems and exploring automation opportunities. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a collaborative culture that supports wellbeing and productivity. Advise the CEO, senior leadership team, and Board on all people related matters. Balance strategic initiatives with day to day HR operations, ensuring both long-term goals and immediate business needs are met. Lead and support the People Coordinator and Payroll Officer to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant HR and payroll services aligned with Avive Health priorities. What You’ll Bring: Proven experience in a senior HR role, combining both strategic and hands-on operational delivery. Strong background in complex award/EBA environments; healthcare, aged care, hospital experience highly regarded. Confidence partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes, even in challenging or change resistant environments. Experience in change management, including navigating periods of organisational growth or transformation. Exceptional knowledge of HR best practice, workplace legislation, relevant awards, and compliance regulations. Proficiency in HR systems and technologies, with experience in HRIS systems (Employment Hero desirable). Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and liaison skills, along with a flexible working attitude. Ability to work autonomously, show initiative, and solve problems within established guidelines, meeting work targets with minimal supervision. Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline.
