The organisation has further strengthened its platform with the acquisition of a specialist global equities manager, adding new listed and unlisted investment products and further diversifying its portfolio. This growth has created an exciting opportunity to build out the in-house legal and governance function through the appointment of a senior legal professional. The Opportunity This newly created position offers the opportunity to shape the legal function from the ground up, making a lasting contribution to the organisation’s future. The ideal candidate will have a background in the corporate division of a top-tier law firm (M&A, investment funds, or ECM) or within the funds management sector. Reporting into the CFO, you will provide high-quality, commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders, oversee and manage external legal counsel, and negotiate legal documentation / commercial terms with third parties. Holding the office of Company Secretary, this role will ensure compliance with the Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules, and Corporate Governance Principles & Recommendations. About You : Law degree and current unrestricted practising certificate. 10 years’ professional experience, with training in the corporate division of a top-tier law firm (M&A, ECM, or funds management). Ideally, experience within funds management. Proven drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Self-starter with the confidence to lead the legal and governance function independently. High integrity, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative style.
