Due to recent strong financial performance, our client is keen to secure a broad generalist commercial lawyer with 5 years expertise. The Role As a Senior Legal Counsel reporting to an exceptional General Counsel & Co-Sec, you will have broad responsibility across complex contracts, major transactions, corporate governance, risk and compliance. You will play an integral role supporting the businesses three commercial streams and be expected to work autonomously in a fast-paced, growing environment. Key responsibilities include: Support and lead major transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships; Advise on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management; Manage and coordinate external legal counsel where required; Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes affecting the business; Handle dispute resolution and litigation matters; and Deliver training and build awareness across the business on key legal and compliance issues. About You Ideally you have at least 5 years’ PQE and strong training in either construction, property or commercial/corporate from a major firm or similar in-house environment. While construction experience will be welcomed, this is not a pre-requisite. An eagerness to learn, tackle new challenges and work with various commercial stakeholders will be key in this role. This is a Sydney based role, with terrific flexibility.
