12-month contract Hybrid Working Azure-Focused Role An outstanding opportunity for a Cloud Engineer to take on a pivotal role in managing, monitoring, and shaping the future direction of a dynamic cloud environment. This position is a key part of the team, responsible for ensuring the health, security, and optimisation of our cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Azure and Microsoft 365, while collaborating closely on strategic initiatives. Responsibilities: Manage and monitor cloud environments, with a primary focus on Azure and Office 365, ensuring optimal performance. Lead the direction of the cloud environment by working with the Cloud Architect to design solutions for future requirements. Take responsibility for the vulnerability posture and remediation within the Azure environment. Administer and enhance Azure and Microsoft 365 security tools, including Defender for Cloud and Conditional Access Policies. Build and manage infrastructure-as-code using BICEP templates to deploy new environments and resources. Lead the migration of applications and resources from legacy Azure environments to new subscriptions. Optimise cloud expenditure by monitoring costs and providing recommendations to stakeholders. About You: Extensive experience in a senior-level role, with a strong focus on Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. Proven experience with Azure network routing concepts (Vnets, UDRs, Express Route). Demonstrated expertise in setting up Azure Policy to enforce consistency and automate tasks. Experienced in using Bicep templates to deploy Azure infrastructure and working with DevOps pipelines. A solid understanding of Azure security tooling, including Defender for Cloud and managing RBAC permissions. Proficient in managing web servers (Linux-based) and setting up Application Gateways. Strong skills in troubleshooting, and experience with monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools like Azure Monitor. Knowledge of or exposure to AWS and Microsoft Power Platform is a plus.
