Your Responsibilities As an Underground Shift Boss, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of service crew operators, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Duties include: Supervise and coordinate underground mining crews to ensure safe and efficient operations. Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and provide direction to service crew, operators, and miners. Conduct pre-start meetings and safety briefings at the beginning of each shift. Monitor underground working conditions and enforce compliance with safety procedures and regulations. Ensure production targets, schedules, and development plans are met. Liaise with mine supervisors, engineers, and technical staff to communicate progress and challenges. Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, and implement corrective actions. Complete shift reports, incident reports, and production records accurately and on time. Train, mentor, and develop crew members to enhance skills and efficiency. Manage equipment usage, availability, and report maintenance needs. Respond to emergencies and coordinate safe evacuation or incident management when required. Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example in all aspects of underground operations. About You We're looking for a motivated leader with: Minimum 2 years' experience as a shift boss in underground hard rock mining. Strong knowledge of underground mining methods (development, production, services). Demonstrated ability to manage crews and achieve production/safety targets. Experience conducting workplace inspections, safety meetings, and incident reporting. Familiarity with mine scheduling, ground support, ventilation, and equipment operations. Current Shift Supervisor Certificate of Competency (WA or interstate equivalent). A valid WA manual driver's license (unrestricted).
