About the role As the Enterprise Controls Assurance Lead, you’ll lead the organisation’s controls program to ensure critical operational, enterprise and strategic controls are well-designed, effectively implemented, and operating efficiently. You’ll provide expert advice, deliver key assurance activities, and build capability across the business to support informed decision-making and a strong governance culture aligned with TAC’s strategic objectives. About the Team You will join the newly established Enterprise Governance, Compliance and Assurance team within the Corporate Legal, Governance and Compliance branch - a collaborative group of seven who support each other to deliver in a constantly evolving, sensitive environment. Reporting to a manager who offers a high level of trust and autonomy, you will be empowered to work independently while having an open line for guidance and support when navigating roadblocks or complex challenges. What we’re looking for Proven Expertise in Controls Design & Assurance Extensive experience in shaping and embedding strong control frameworks across complex organisational environments. Skilled in leading the design, implementation, and continual refinement of enterprise controls to meet both public sector requirements and industry best practices. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute assurance programs, conduct control design and effectiveness testing, and drive improvements that enhance overall governance and risk resilience. Strong Capability in Stakeholder Collaboration & Advisory Highly capable in building strong partnerships across first- and second-line teams, governance, and compliance stakeholders. Skilled at translating technical control requirements into practical, business-focused solutions. Experienced in providing expert guidance on compliance alignment, developing remediation strategies, and enhancing organisational capability through training, education, and awareness initiatives. Demonstrated Strength in Controls Reporting & Risk Analysis Specialised in producing high-impact reporting and insights that inform strategic decision-making at executive and board level. Skilled in analysing the effectiveness of controls mapped to organisational risks, identifying gaps, and delivering clear, actionable recommendations. Proven ability to simplify complex data and communicate it effectively to senior leaders, ensuring transparency and informed governance.
