The Role We are seeking a dynamic, professional, and caring Preschool Director to lead our service. This pivotal leadership position requires a confident manager and educational leader who can balance regulatory compliance, team management, and family engagement with a genuine passion for creating high-quality learning experiences. The Director will: Oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring the preschool runs smoothly and efficiently. Provide strong leadership and support to the teaching team, fostering professional growth and collaboration. Act as the Educational Leader, guiding the development and delivery of a curriculum that reflects the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and promotes the best outcomes for children. Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with children, families, staff, and the wider community. Manage enrolments, budgets, and resources in line with organisational goals and compliance requirements. Drive continuous improvement, leading the preschool through assessment and rating processes with a focus on achieving excellence. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF) . Oversee recruitment, induction, mentoring, and ongoing support of educators. Monitor and manage the service’s financial sustainability, including budgets and fee structures. Develop and maintain clear communication channels with families, supporting a culture of trust and inclusion. Lead policy development and implementation to meet legislative requirements and best practice standards. Uphold and model the service’s philosophy, ensuring it is embedded across all practices. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor or Diploma of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent qualification recognised by ACECQA). NESA accreditation (where applicable). Sound knowledge of the EYLF, NQF, and current best practices in early childhood education. Proven leadership experience in an early childhood service. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Current Working with Children Check, First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications. Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management, or a specialist area (e.g. inclusive education). Experience in non-for-profit or community-based services.
