This role will be primarily focused on supporting Ikon’s operations and growth. We have an exciting opportunity for an Academic Program Coordinator to join EDU Holdings in the heart of Sydney or Melbourne. As the Academic Program Coordinator, you will be the go-to course expert for your team and the academics. This pivotal role ensures the seamless delivery of higher education, leading teaching, shaping assessments, and driving continuous improvements. From allocating teaching responsibilities to safeguarding academic integrity and supporting student success, this position is at the heart of an enriching learning experience. Beyond the classroom, the Academic Program Coordinator works closely with the Head of School, streamlining operations and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. The role: Ensure content is delivered effectively and aligns with accreditation standards Collaborate with teaching teams each trimester to evaluate subjects and implement impactful improvements Oversee a team of 3, ensuring seamless course delivery across Counselling and Psychotherapy programs Present curriculum enhancements to the Teaching and Learning Committee for endorsement Support academic staff in research initiatives and coordinate external conference presentations Oversee external subject writers, maintaining high standards across course materials Promote a cross-disciplinary approach to enrich student learning and real-world application Engage in up to two classes per trimester (approximately six hours per week), bringing real-world expertise into the classroom to enrich student learning Ensure teaching, learning, and assessment resources are up-to-date, accessible, and aligned with course objectives Manage queries, complaints, and grievances with professionalism and care Lead the onboarding and training of new academic staff to ensure a smooth transition Provide ad hoc support as needed to enhance academic operations Ideal candidate: PhD in Counselling or a related field – highly valued but not essential Qualified and experienced counsellor with relevant registration (eligible for ACA Level 4 membership) Higher education expertise – ideally with university experience and a strong grasp of course quality reviews and academic processes Passionate educator with hands-on teaching experience in counselling and psychotherapy Accredited counsellor – bringing both practical expertise and academic insight to the role Active contributor to research with the ability to publish and drive thought leadership in the field Collaborative leader – fostering teamwork and guiding academic staff with clarity and support Bridging academia and practice – ensuring a strong connection between research, teaching, and real-world counselling Innovative teaching approach – with a deep understanding of effective pedagogy for counselling students What's in it for you?
