Location - ACT Security Clearance - Australian Citizens with minimum NV1 Clearance Length of Contract - 12 months (2X12 months extension options) Closing Date - 08/09/2025 Responsibilities: Providing leading cost estimation and cost assurance practices to support regular project development activities, capability assessment and prioritisation activities. Providing independent cost estimation and analysis of new projects and proposals as well as cost assurance. Establishing a costing capability to support an early understanding of the cost impacts of new projects. To support the regular cost estimation and cost assurance activities, review total cost of ownership models and develop models in accordance with newly identified capability gaps. Experience and Skills Sought: Have demonstrated experience in conducting cost estimation in costing tool and knowledge of total cost of ownership estimation. Experience in conducting cost estimation assessments in the Defence and Security and Estate sectors, including evaluating the completeness of the estimate, evaluating the credibility of the estimating methodology and evaluating the validity of the cost estimate value. Deliverables: Develop project cost estimation models and analyse cost risk and uncertainty Use a Defence endorsed costing tools to develop cost estimation models for new projects/proposals/gaps as identified by the Manufacturing Division. Analyse risk and uncertainty of the cost estimations. Provide cost briefs, cost assurance and ad-hoc reports as requested to higher authorities on the projects' cost estimations when required. Revise existing cost models in accordance with any changes in scope or specification. Provide cost briefs, cost assurance and ad-hoc reports about the revisions when required. Update relevant data with the revised cost estimates as required. Provide on-going at-work mentoring and training on different costing methods, cost estimation techniques, data maturity assessment, data extraction and reporting from different types of models. Provide peer-review of cost estimation models produced by staff. Participate in meeting with project teams/capability managers and relevant stakeholders, as required, to validate and verify assumptions and inputs into the parametric cost models. Present cost estimation results to relevant stakeholders and address any question as required.
