The key duties of the position include The Role The Program Director SEA1442 manages a large and diverse team delivering significant communications capability to Navy's tactical edge. As part of Maritime and Strategic Communications Systems Program Office (MSCSPO), the work area provides an integrated Joint Systems Division (JSD) effect to the war fighter. The successful applicant will demonstrate significant Project and or Program management experience, delivering complex work with an emphasis on speed to capability. As the role is delivery focused and requires stakeholder engagement skills of a high order, demonstration of superior communications skills is essential. An EL2 Program Director works with considerable independence and is accountable to perform and achieve very complex, program management duties within an integrated workforce. They require extensive knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. An EL2 Program Director is required to exercise a significant degree of independence and perform an important leadership role. They are responsible for influencing and developing strategies, priorities and operational practices in support of Defence objectives based on high-level decision making and judgement. They will provide strategic advice to senior leadership and stakeholders as well as leading and assuming accountability for very complex work that has strategic, political and/or operational significance. An EL2 Program Director is accountable to lead a work team or teams, plan and manage a range of human and physical resources, and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities. They will provide strategic direction to the work unit, including developing business plans, strategies and priorities and monitor work-flow and performance. About our Team You will join a technically focused and collaborative team within the MSC SPO. The team is small but highly capable, consisting of dedicated engineers and technical officers committed to delivering integrated maritime communication capabilities. This role operates in a stakeholder-rich environment, interfacing with multiple ship platform SPOs, Navy capability managers, Navy Engineering and industry delivery partners. Collaboration is essential, as the role contributes to integration across several naval platforms and ensures system-level alignment during all key engineering milestones.
