Description The Role In this position you'll operate a fleet of 6 & 8 series John Deere GPS operated tractors . In addition to the hands-on experience you'll receive, you'll be able to utilise your background in small crop farming to help carry out and improve planting tasks within the farm. Key Responsibilities Assisting with the flow process of crops through the operations system from planting to pre-harvesting Preparing ground as directed by Farm Manager Performing tractor work (such as discing, bed forming, slashing, harvesting, transplanting, spraying, apply fertilizer and weed control) Maintaining relevant documentation (i.e., prestart checklist, spray diary, stock list, health and safety) Ensuring that the Tractors are kept clean, tidy and in a healthy state Operating safely within OH&S Regulations and work practices including maintaining a clean work environment. Addressing any issues as they arise and reporting them back to the Pre-Harvest Manager Record Harvesting Operations in farm management tool A safety-first approach to your work to ensure your own safety and the safety of others. Reporting to: Site Manager Skills And Experiences Demonstrated experience driving tractors/heavy machinery. Chemical Accreditation Experience in row cropping (advantageous) Experience on John Deere 8 series tractors (or similar) with GPS guidance (highly regarded) Must have a Class C (unrestricted) driver’s license. A Cert 3 in Chemical Application/Safety (highly regarded) Moderate computing skills (including the ability to use GPS systems) The ability to maintain to tractors and equipment. Tractor Pre-starts etc. Forklift experience (advantageous) Flexibility with hours (i.e. mid-afternoon to midnight availability, etc.) Be able to work autonomously or as part of a team.
