About the Role The Financial Controller role is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management for the Perpetual Corporate Trust business including financial accounting, finance operations, finance systems, and controls, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role plays a crucial role in managing the company's financial health, implementing financial strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulations and accounting standards. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of all financial accounting requirements, including statutory reporting, external audits, technical papers, and compliance with local and Group standards. Manage external audit processes to ensure clean audit opinions, prepare Board and Audit Committee papers, and oversee subsidiary audits and issue resolution. Develop and maintain financial policies and frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and Group Finance standards. Monitor and maintain cash flow, net assets, and working capital to meet ongoing regulatory obligations. Provide leadership to the Senior Manager of Operations across accounts receivable, fixed assets, bank accounts, month-end closure, and balance sheet reconciliations. Build and lead a team focused on maintaining finance systems and delivering timely, accurate data analytics and dashboards (e.g., PowerBI) for decision-making. Ensure compliance, embed effective controls, lead process improvements, manage internal audits, support ad hoc projects, and foster strong stakeholder relationships. About you We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and brings a proactive, continuous improvement mindset and we’re interested in hearing from people who have: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance and CA/CPA accreditation Proven experience (8 years) in a senior financial management role, preferably as a Financial Controller or finance leadership roles Track record of leading and developing teams Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management Exceptional stakeholder management and communication, with the ability to influence senior leaders Experience leading and developing finance teams in dynamic, operational setting Demonstrated experience in process improvement and delivering scalable solutions Project management experience, particularly in implementing systems or tools (e.g., general ledger systems, Tech 1, OneStream for forecasting) A record of successfully adapting to and implementing change A passion for driving efficiency and innovation across teams and processes Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and navigating change with confidence.
