The Company My client is rapidly growing Australian FMCG/Retail business that has just expanded it's operations internationally. Due to this growth and expansion they are looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join the team with a strong focus on consolidating store expenses as the brand & global footprint expands. This is a newly created role so you will play a crucial role in setting up best practice, and process & system improvement. This position will move into a managerial role in 12-18 months. Office is located in Inner Sydney Suburbs. The Role Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be an integral part to the success of the finance team. You'll take ownership of the full end-to-end Accounts Payable function, with responsibilities including: Reviewing and processing supplier invoices and employee expense claims Managing weekly and ad-hoc payment runs, ensuring timely payments and correct authorisations Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies Maintaining vendor database and verifying new bank details Collaborating with internal teams to validate cost allocations and accruals Identifying opportunities for automation and process optimisation Supporting system upgrades and automation initiatives Business Partner with the stores to set up "best practice" Your Background To thrive in this role, you'll ideally bring: 3 years' experience in an Accounts Payable role within a fast-paced, commercial environment Experience in Retail/FMCG/Multi-Site businesses/cost centres preferred Ability to work independently and proactively in a standalone position Ideally exposure to AP system/process automation or ERP migration Exposure to high-volume environments High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Proficiency in Excel and other financial systems A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines Why Apply?
