Job Description: Casual Trade Cook x 2 • Progress Your Career Today! • Friendly and dynamic team • Work for one of Australia’s leading hospital groups About the Role The trade cooks under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef will be responsible in the production of bulk food items (cold and hot) whilst ensuring high standards in quality, presentation and taste. Food safety standards and hygiene are paramount in operations in the food services department, therefore these are mandated as a prerequisite. Some minor sandwich and salad meal preparation may possibly be required. Duties providing the full range of food service assistant including but not limited to • Deliver the highest standard of patient food services and ensure competency certification of all tasks undertaken • Demonstrate compliance with task allocation, timeline deadlines, OH&S and Food Safety • Observe and follow correct food handling policies and procedures as documented in the Food Safety Program • Complete all relevant monitoring documentation in regards to food safety • Prepare food as per documented production schedule • Ensure all food is prepared cooked, stored and labelled as per work schedule and as per documented time frame Classifications Pay Rate: • GR3 Your Contribution • Certificate 3 in commercial cookery or equivalent • Current Food Handlers certificate • Experience in high volume food service • Customer satisfaction driven • Duty of care • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain What we offer • Salary Packaging – Increase your take home pay! • Employee Assistance Program • Staff Health Centre • CBD Location, close to Public Transport and close to lots of car parks • Career development & advancement encouraged About Food Services Department St Vincent’s Fitzroy Food service department is a central production kitchen providing food for 11 sites and for St Vincent’s itself. We are fully functional kitchen operating 365 days of the year. We produce approximately 2500 meals daily in accordance to the “cook-chill” methodology for all sites. Food service department consist of over 90 employees ranging from cooks/chefs, kitchen hands and food service assistance.
