Job Description We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef – Pastry to join our culinary team at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and Convention Centre. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee pastry production across both our resort dining outlets, including SOLA Bar & Restaurant, and our large-scale convention centre. You’ll play a key role in day-to-day operations while contributing creatively to menus and leading a high-performing team across two diverse kitchens. What you’ll do: Oversee the preparation and presentation of a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods across multiple service areas Collaborate on the development of seasonal menus and event-specific offerings, bringing creativity and consistency to every dish Train, mentor, and supervise junior pastry staff, supporting skill development and high performance Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering, and ensure seamless kitchen workflow and prep schedules Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and allergen management protocols in line with industry standards Assist with food cost control, portioning, and waste reduction to support overall profitability Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-energy kitchen environment This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your creativity, precision, and leadership to a well-regarded hospitality brand.
