About the role This role will contribute to the development and execution of AGL’s energy transition strategy by identifying and progressing low carbon generation growth opportunities including potential acquisitions, and the disciplined development of new generation projects. The role is accountable for developing high capital value generation projects ($100m - $1b) for submission to AGL Board and/or financiers. This will require the management of development budgets for projects ($2-10m). What you'll be doing: Co-ordinate and lead internal and external resources and contractors through the implementation of complex power development projects within the NEM to meet time and cost forecasts. Produce development project budgets necessary to move projects through all development activities ready for final investment decision (FID) (budgets typically $2-$10m) Contribute to the preparation of business cases for the approval of power generation opportunities to a level sufficient to be recommended to the Board for investment approval ($100m-$1,000m). Manage due diligence inputs for acquisitions. Contribute to the Integrated Portfolio Management team future portfolio planning to ensure AGL is well positioned to identify and execute power generation opportunities in the market. Prepare communications and manage issues with internal and external stakeholders. What we're looking for: Someone who is Ideally experienced in the development of large scale renewable generation projects, including wind, solar or storage Experience in the power industry and/or similar development roles. Strong negotiation skills, e xcellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. Financial analysis and understanding of complex financial models Understanding of energy markets and value drivers for large scale generation projects, in particular renewables and storage.
