ABOUT THE BRANCH & TEAM The Enterprise Services Branch (the Branch) within the Enterprise Systems and Services Division (the Division) is responsible for driving whole of government ERP policy outcomes. The Branch provides advice to entities regarding the APS ERP approach, as well as guidance and support (including preparation, planning and implementation) to smaller entities uplifting their ERP systems. We are also responsible for the financial management, performance reporting, internal audit controls, and assurance for the Division. Over the next three years, the Division will undergo transformative change as APS entities, including the Department of Finance, determine their future ERP and transactional processing services. The Finance ERP Project is a department-wide initiative that represents a critical step in modernising operations. The project team brings deep expertise across project management, business analysis, data migration, and change management. By leveraging strong stakeholder engagement and disciplined change practices, the team ensures that corporate business areas are actively engaged in shaping requirements and prepared for the transition to new ERP processes. The key duties of the position include ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The Branch has an opportunity for an EL2 Program Director to join a small, supportive, high performing team. We are looking for a self-motivated and proactive team leader who thinks creatively and looks for solutions to complex issues. You will demonstrate comprehensive skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, communication and whole-of-government frameworks and processes. You will work with divisions from across the Department of Finance to cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including at senior levels. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead the planning, delivery and implementation of an ERP for the Department of Finance. Undertake project management activities including project planning and documentation (including procurement documents), implementation, monitoring and reporting on progress, providing recommendations about managing risk, and identifying and resolving problems. High-level stakeholder engagement, including the ability to anticipate potential issues/risks and to devise solutions/mitigations with an outcome focus. Provision of tactical, operational and strategic levels of engagement, decision making and advice through Project Workshops and other communication and engagement channels. Building capability, managing a complex workload effectively and delivering quality outputs and outcomes. Exercising sound judgement and providing timely and quality advice to Senior Executives and key stakeholders. Working collaboratively with Project Managers within the Branch to ensure resources are effectively allocated across projects and to facilitate cooperation and partnerships across Commonwealth Agencies. Make recommendations for continuous improvement and transformations in ERP Uplift including sharing project management expertise, communicating with influence, mentoring and training to other staff to build team capacity. Oversee the end-to-end approach to market process and conduct comprehensive analysis of vendor proposals to inform decision making.
