2 Year Fixed Term Contract FINANCE TRANSFORMATION ACCOUNTING LEAD Position Purpose: Our client, a global mining services provider is seeking a highly experienced Finance Transformation Accounting Lead to support the delivery of a global finance transformation program. This critical position is designed to enhance efficiencies, drive process improvement, and centralize accounting processes across the organization. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enabling the finance function to add strategic value while delivering actionable insights and maintaining the highest standards of governance and accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Process Optimization & Improvement Identify and implement enhancements to accounting processes to elevate efficiency, accuracy, and control. Lead or support automation initiatives to reduce manual interventions. Develop comprehensive process documentation, SOPs, and scalable control frameworks. Collaborate with the group finance and systems teams on ERP developments aligned with transformation initiatives. Month-End Process Enhancement Drive improvements to month-end close activities to shorten timelines and improve accuracy. Partner with corporate and regional finance teams to optimize reconciliations, accruals, journals, and reporting processes. Design and implement standardized, scalable month-end procedures to enhance global consistency. Collaborate with FP&A teams to develop and embed standardized month-end review reports. Centralization & Standardization Support the centralization of finance functions into shared services models globally. Assist in consolidating international finance operations and optimizing/offshoring APAC finance tasks. Implement consistent processes, templates, and reporting tools across multiple business units. Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal policies through standardized practice frameworks. Finance Governance & Reporting Contribute to finance governance activities, including implementing fit-for-purpose policies and procedures. Facilitate the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports during transitional phases. Safeguard financial integrity and audit readiness during transformation rollout. Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting to inform decision-making effectively. Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Essential: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (mandatory). Professional designation such as CA/CPA required. A minimum of 6 years of experience in global/multinational organizations or within Big 4 accounting firms. Comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting processes with a strong emphasis on best practices. Proven track record in identifying and implementing process improvements, including standardization efforts within complex organizations. Expertise in month-end close and reconciliations, with the ability to simplify and enhance processes. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Analytical mindset coupled with exceptional attention to detail and a process-driven approach. Self-motivated professional capable of managing competing deadlines and delivering results.
