NTHA are seeking an entry level first year carpentry apprentice to come on board our host employers' team! Located in the northern and southern suburbs of Adelaide Must be willing to drive to different site locations NTHA is a nationally registered Group Training Organisation that employs and supports apprentices by placing them with host employers for quality, paid hands-on training and experience. ABOUT THE HOST EMPLOYER The host employer is a well-established Adelaide-based building company with over 25 years of experience in high-end renovations, custom extensions, and architecturally designed homes. Known for quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and strong client relationships, the host employer delivers timeless, functional spaces tailored to each project. ABOUT THE ROLE This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical carpentry skills through hands-on training across a variety of residential projects, including custom homes, renovations, and extensions. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced tradespeople, learning essential techniques and industry best practices. Apprentices are supported and mentored on-site, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a professional and team-focused environment. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist with framing, fixing, and finishing carpentry • Assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling timber and other materials • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively • Follow plans and specifications under supervision • Maintain a clean and safe worksite • Learn and apply carpentry techniques and standards • Work both independently and as part of a team • Support tradespeople with day-to-day tasks • Participate in safety meetings and adhere to WHS policies WHY JOIN US? • Eligible carpentry apprentices can receive $10K in government incentives over 4 years due to its high-priority status • Full-time paid apprenticeship with structured training • Learn from highly skilled tradespeople with years of industry experience • Supportive and friendly team environment with on-going mentoring from the NTHA Field Officer • Opportunities for growth and development within the business • All PPE provided • Long-term job prospects upon successful completion of the apprenticeship THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE • A current driver’s license (P1's minimum) and vehicle is a must • A genuine interest in carpentry and building • Willingness to learn and follow instructions • Reliable, punctual, and hard-working attitude • Good communication and teamwork skills • White Card (required) or willing to get one • Certificate 1 in construction (advantages but not essential) • Has completed working experience on a site (advantages but not essential) • Has had some form of employment Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday - Friday.
