Your role at St John of God HealthCare Located in our modern Kings Square Office in the heart of Perth’s CBD, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Project Accountant to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity. You will be responsible for providing Project Accounting across SJGHC and its associated subsidiaries. This includes but is not limited to the provision of Group Redevelopment accounting and reporting along with providing business partnering support to Project Management teams at various SJGHC sites that are undertaking major project The Position Prepare monthly project finance reports including but not limited to variance analysis, actuals, commitments and estimate to complete forecasts along with reviews of progress claims and variation orders. Ensure all project accounting activities are completed in accordance with monthly timetables and company policies / standards. Review transactional information to ensure correctly allocated / coded to the project Prepare and process month end accrual and other journals associated with the project. Assist with the completion of purchase order requisitions and ensure purchase orders have been received and approved in the financial system. Communicate monthly project results to Project Directors, Hospital Finance Directors and other external stakeholders as required. Prepare capitalization schedules of assets throughout the project and maintain the relevant fixed asset registers. Prepare and submit relevant project acquittals of any gift funds associated with projects. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure that all reconciling items are actioned and cleared on a timely basis. Assist Group EPMO with all project finance requests. Support project managers and other project team caregivers with any finance related requests. Provide support to hospital finance teams and Directors of Finance with project finance requests. Be a point of contact for SJGHC caregivers in best practice usage of the Projects sub-ledger of Oracle Financials. Maintain project specific work breakdown and task structures within Oracle Projects, ensuring project budgets and forecasts are accurately maintained. Position Requirements We are looking for a positive, flexible, self-driven individual with a can-do attitude who has the ability to support self and others. To succeed, you will hold a tertiary level qualification in Accounting or Commerce and possession of a CA or CPA qualification with 1-2 years’ experience within project and/or capital accounting. You will have sound knowledge of month end deliverables, accounting and finance practices and processes and accounting standards particularly when applied to project and capital accounting with exposure to a large ERP system (oracle preferred). The successful candidate will have strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work in an inclusive and team-orientated environment. In this position you will display your excellent organisation skills, strong attention to detail including the delivery of accurate information, with the ability to prioritise work effectively and plan for and meet reporting deadlines. Having the ability to problem solve, with analytical and logical thinking will be key to your success in this role.
