Are you a commercially minded Property Accountant with a strong foundation in financial reporting and a passion for real estate? We’re working with a premier property investment and asset management firm that’s looking to add a high-calibre professional to their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a dynamic portfolio of shopping centres , with scope to contribute to both property and fund-level performance. What You’ll Be Doing: Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financials for a portfolio of retail assets. Deliver variance analysis and present results to Centre Managers. Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards. Service Charge & Expense Management Collaborate with Property and Facilities Managers on annual service charge budgets and reconciliations. Monitor service charge expenditure and manage tenant recoveries and queries. Treasury & Income Control Prepare fortnightly payment runs for Director approval. Reconcile rent rolls, track income, and support lease-related accounting adjustments. Budgeting & Forecasting Assist in budget creation and forecast updates. Provide insights and analysis to support asset management strategies. Stakeholder Engagement Partner with Asset Managers, Property Managers, and external advisors. Support transaction activity including acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing. Systems & Controls Champion best practices in Yardi, ensuring data accuracy and user onboarding. Drive efficiencies across finance processes and reporting frameworks. Tax & Compliance Assist with BAS preparation and coordinate with tax advisors to ensure compliance. What We’re Looking For: Experience in property or real estate accounting, ideally within retail or shopping centre environments. Strong understanding of service charge accounting and commercial lease structures. CA/CPA qualified (or working towards). Exposure to working for property funds or various investment structures is a plus. Proficient in property management and accounting systems (e.g., Yardi). Excellent Excel skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines. Why Apply?
