We are seeking a skilled and reliable Switchboard Fitter/Builder to join our Client at a locally owned and operated switchboard manufacturing company in Brisbane . The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, wiring, and testing of custom-built switchboards and control panels in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and Australian Standards. Key Responsibilities: Assemble switchboards, control panels, and enclosures using hand and power tools. Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. Install and wire components such as circuit breakers, contactors, meters, busbars, isolators, and control devices. Perform point-to-point wiring and cable terminations. Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and to high-quality standards. Conduct basic functional testing and quality checks on completed switchboards. Work collaboratively with other team members including electricians, fitters, and designers. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the workshop. Assist with incoming materials handling, component preparation, and stock checks as required. Skills and Qualifications: Essential: Previous experience in switchboard fitting/building or a similar electrical assembly role. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics. QLD Electrical License Good manual dexterity and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to workplace health and safety practices. Desirable: Electrical trade qualification or Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician). LV switchboard manufacturing experience in line with AS/NZS 61439. Forklift license or experience operating workshop machinery (desirable but not required).
