Job Description About The Role Reliability Engineers act as a bridge between development and operations, applying a software engineering mindset to system administration challenges. They divide their time between operational/on-call responsibilities and building systems and software that enhance site reliability and performance. They provide Application Infrastructure Administration services for enterprise and corporate platforms including PeopleSoft ERP systems, Oracle databases, middleware components, related infrastructure and integrations, ensuring optimal performance, availability and scalability of enterprise systems. Reliability Engineers develop self-service tools for internal users who depend on their services. They collaborate closely with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, scalability, security, observability, and maintainability. This includes implementing monitoring and alerting frameworks, conducting reliability reviews, and automating infrastructure to enforce consistency and resilience from development through to production. Additionally, they contribute to the continuous improvement of reliability engineering practices, tools, and methods. What You’ll Do Drive Resiliency and Availability : Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Product teams, and the PeopleSoft application support team to enhance the reliability and performance of PeopleSoft and related systems across Griffith’s environments. Champion operational best practices and uphold quality throughout the product lifecycle to ensure high availability and seamless user experiences. Champion Automation : Design and build robust automation solutions to streamline the deployment, monitoring, and incident response for PeopleSoft systems, minimizing manual intervention in repetitive support tasks and increasing system reliability. Infrastructure as Code : Apply your knowledge of tools like Terraform and Ansible to manage infrastructure consistently across Griffith’s systems. Enable the automated provisioning and scaling of PeopleSoft environments, ensuring repeatable and predictable deployments. CI/CD Optimization: Enhance continuous integration and delivery pipelines to accelerate deployments of PeopleSoft updates and patches while maintaining high system reliability and security standards. Observability Enhancement : Integrate PeopleSoft applications with observability tools to monitor system health, application performance, and user experience. Build dashboards and automated checks that provide actionable insights into system status and application uptime. Drive Innovation: Drive Griffith’s adoption of cloud-native infrastructure, modern DevOps practices, and observability tools to optimize the operation of PeopleSoft and other enterprise applications in a hybrid cloud environment. AI/ML Integration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML frameworks, chatbots, or diagnostic agents to enhance automated troubleshooting, enrich operational intelligence, and optimize PeopleSoft operations for end-users. About you The occupant of this position will hold a relevant degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Experience should include system administration, application support, or infrastructure management in enterprise environments preferably with exposure to ERP systems such as PeopleSoft. Desirable requirements include Experience in the Higher Education sector and an understanding of its operational systems and data requirements. Experience with Oracle database administration or cloud database platforms or containerisation technologies. ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge of IT service and change management principles. Willingness and availability to participate in on-call support and provide after-hours support, particularly during release management and critical maintenance activities. HEW 7 Salary – Base range - $101,068.27 - $109,496.54 17% super. Full package range - $118,249.89 - $128,110.96.
