Darwin, Full Time, Quality Vacancy Listing Dates 15/08/2025 to 12/09/2025 Please Quote Reference Number 13181 Full time permanent position Remuneration: $137,000 - $185,000 per annum Location: Tindal RAAF Base CMS require a Quality Control Manager to join their team based at Tindal RAAF Base in Darwin, Northern Territory. The Quality Control Manager is essential for the success of field projects. This position involves coordinating and thoroughly documenting the quality control program to ensure adherence to standards and best practices. A key responsibility is identifying areas for productivity improvement, client relationships, and customer service within the quality management system. By implementing effective strategies and measures, the Quality Control Manager aims to optimize project performance and exceed customer expectations, ultimately contributing to the overall success of the projects. Duties and responsibilities include : Uphold safety on-site Participate in the Post Award Kick-off, Partnering, Preconstruction, Design Development, Coordination, and Mutual Understanding Meetings. Implement, Manage, and control the three-phase QC process performed by QC Specialists, laboratory testing, or inspection personnel. This includes initiating and leading Initial and Preparatory meetings and following up with documentation. Notify the Contracting officer of the preparatory and initial phase meetings in advance. Coordinate with the on-site superintendent to immediately stop any segment of work that does not comply with the contract requirements. Record defective work in the deficiency log and seek a corrective action plan for implementation from the subcontractor. Prepare daily QC Reports, including daily photographic documentation to support the work reported in the Daily Reports. Prepare the QC portion for the weekly meeting with the government. Ensure that design and construction submittals are reviewed and approved, as required by the contract, before allowing material on site and work to proceed with these items. Maintain a submittal register. Update As-built drawings daily, maintaining up-to-date set on site. Maintain a testing plan and log. Ensure that all testing is performed in accordance with the contract. Review all test reports and notify the Contracting Officer of all deficiencies, along with a proposal for corrective action. Perform punch-out and participate in pre-final/final acceptance inspections. Submit punch lists to the Contracting Officer for each inspection and make corrections. Coordinate with the Contracting Officer on final inspection dates. Manages the complete submittal process, including initiation and detailed review to confirm compliance, submission, and distribution. Inspect materials and equipment received on-site and all applicable work and rework to ensure compliance with contract requirements. Maintain a rework log. Perform other duties as assigned To be considered you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science and a minimum of five years experience as a Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Manager on similar sizes and types of construction contracts. At least two years experience as a QC Manager is also required. Other required skills, education and experience : Must be familiar with the DoD specifications and requirements of EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance. Proficient in Microsoft 365 Must demonstrate and provide comprehensive, accurate, and timely Complete the "Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors" course and maintain current certification. 30-hr OSHA Course (Must be obtained within 60 days, maximum, of the contract). 40-hr Contract Safety Awareness Course (Must be obtained within 60 days, maximum, of the contract). Must be able to pass the US Navy's required security background check. This is a full time permanent position.
