This is a strategic digital transformation – not just a software swap – impacting the way student information is managed and consumed across the University. As the Solution Architect for the Student Management Systems project, you’ll be a key driver in shaping and delivering the SMS modernisation strategy. You will design, plan, and oversee solution architectures that align with the University's Digital Strategy 2023–2030, working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure the solution is scalable, flexible, and human-centred. Key Responsibilities • Develop enterprise-ready SMS solution options aligned with University goals for student engagement, program offerings, and success. • Create architectural models and technology roadmaps to move towards a composable platform approach. • Design integration between the SMS and related systems (admissions, financial aid, LMS, curriculum management). • Optimise student management processes through automation, AI/ML, and data-driven decision-making. • Embed Responsible AI principles, sustainability considerations, and cloud cost management. • Engage and influence diverse stakeholder groups, bridging the gap between technical and academic/administrative teams. • Ensure security, data governance, and compliance are core to the solution design. What We’re Looking For Mandatory – your application will not progress without this: • Proven higher education sector experience, specifically with Student Management Systems and the processes, regulations, and stakeholders involved. Essential: • Strong background in business and solution architecture within higher education. • Expertise in modern cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and SaaS integration. • Experience delivering large-scale digital transformation programs. • Solid financial acumen to assess and optimise business value and costs. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Knowledge of AI/ML architectures, digital credentialing, and composable ERP/SaaS trends. • Proficiency in Agile delivery methodologies and architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate). Why Join • Work on a major, high-impact transformation that will shape the student experience at the University for years to come. • Be part of a supportive and collaborative environment with a healthy work/life balance. • Hybrid work flexibility – two set on-campus days plus an additional in-office day agreed with you.
