About the opportunity We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Cook to join our team at our 96-bed aged care facility. You will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that cater to the dietary needs of our residents. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook meals in accordance with aged care dietary requirements, menu plans, and resident preferences. Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized kitchen environment in line with food safety standards. Ensure special diets (texture-modified, diabetic, allergen-free) are accurately prepared and served. Collaborate with dietitians and facility staff to ensure meal quality and compliance with care plans. Supervise and mentor kitchen assistants or food service staff when required. Participate in stock ordering, rotation, and waste management. What you’ll bring You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. To thrive in this role, you will have: Qualification as a Cook (Minimum requirement, Certificate 3 Commercial Cookery) Significant experience in commercial cooking. A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management. The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment. You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: A current NDIS Clearance Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
