The Railway Hotel Bundy is a well-established and vibrant venue in the heart of Bundaberg, offering quality pub classics, seasonal specials, and a welcoming atmosphere. We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Chef to lead the kitchen operations and help deliver a high standard of food for our growing customer base. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of dishes in line with the pub’s menu and daily specials. Ensure all meals are presented and served to the highest standard, consistently and efficiently. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment in line with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP). Oversee food preparation and delegate tasks to kitchen staff as required. Assist with menu development, stock control, and cost management. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of fresh ingredients. Train, supervise, and mentor junior kitchen team members. Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery. Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations and venue policies. Requirements: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification). Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a busy kitchen environment. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Proven ability to work under pressure and handle high-volume service. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
