The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority's (IHACPA's) vision is for all Australians to have access to a sustainable, locally controlled health system that funds public hospital and aged care services using activity-based funding (ABF), where practicable, based on a national efficient price. The Hospital Costing Section sits within the Costing and Data Infrastructure Branch. The Hospital Costing Section is responsible for the development and maintenance of costing standards for hospitals and aged care services and undertakes evaluation of application of the standards. The Section has responsibility for projects which inform new, and refine current, cost collections, and contribute to the development of data collection specifications and data acquisition methodologies The Project Manager position supports the branch with strategic development, project management and procurement, ensuring the probity of all processes. This may include but is not limited to: Being accountable to the section Director for major projects undertaken by the section and supporting the Director to deliver work plan priorities. Managing staff and section resources. Managing the public and private sector National Hospital Cost Data Collection including: o Data specifications preparation. o Contract management. o Data collection. o Data security. o Data validation. o Results reporting. Managing the development and maintenance of the Australian Hospital Patient Costing Standards (AHPCS). Managing reporting and benchmarking of IHACPA protected data. Preparing complex documents including reports, technical and general correspondence, minutes, and briefings. Reporting to various IHACPA advisory committees, managing relationships and working with stakeholders on issues related to National Hospital Costing Data Collection (NHCDC) data. Representing IHACPA in liaison and engagement with external stakeholders, such as other government agencies, representatives of private sector hospitals, and members of the public.
