Development Executive- Residential & Mixed Use Your opportunity The Development, Design & Construction (DD&C) team brings our strategic vision to life by shaping, building and delivering our assets. From early-stage planning and design through to construction and handover, the team creates high-quality, sustainable, and innovative spaces that enhance the experience for our customers, retailers, and communities. DD&C ensures that our centres continue to evolve, stay relevant, and drive long-term value for the business. Day-to-day you will be responsible for: Development Executives guide DD&C projects across our portfolio. This means securing regulatory and co-owner approvals, managing budgets and SAP‐aligned initiatives, and translating strategic masterplans into delivered value—ensuring each project drives asset growth and aligns with our long-term strategy. Lead projects end-to-end, from briefing through to hand-over. Secure approvals & funding by drafting enterprise briefs and obtaining sign-off from Asset Management, Group Ops, partners and regulators. Manage SAP roll-outs by implementing all SAP changes for DD&C, ensuring correct setup and data. Shape asset plans; feed into feasibility studies, disposals, acquisitions and long-term masterplans. Coordinate capital transfers such as handling leasing changes, renewals and downsizes for each asset Plan & prioritise balanced development and operational capital projects across multiple assets. Collaborate regularly to align scope, budget and timing with Finance, Legal, Planning, Asset Teams and co-owners. Lead forums: run DCMs, PCGs and project check-ins; resolve day-to-day queries and escalate as needed. You influence planning controls and local frameworks by managing council and state relationships. You build genuine relationships—whether with project teams, council officers or JV partners—and keep dialogue open. You take responsibility for every stage of delivery, follow through on commitments and keep others informed. When priorities shift or approvals stall, you adapt calmly and find new ways forward. You use strategic tactics like market and portfolio insights to shape smart development recommendations and spot new ideas. You anticipate risks—whether regulatory, competitive or budgetary—and propose practical fixes. Using your commercial awareness, you balance cost, time and quality to deliver the best outcome for the business.
