We are seeking a skilled and strategic Team Leader - Coastal Planning and Development to lead a dedicated team of planners ensuring that South Australia's planning system addresses critical coastal and River Murray issues. In this influential role, you will: Lead planning input into major development assessments. Represent the Coast Protection Board in coastal development decisions. Drive improvements across planning systems and coastal policy, responding to climate change and sea level rise. Manage and mentor a high-performing planning team. Coordinate resources and set strategic direction. Essential Criteria (including qualifications): A recognised degree or recognised post graduate qualification in the discipline of Planning specialising in one of the following areas: Urban Regional Planning; Urban Design; Environmental Planning; Transport Planning, or such qualifications in urban and regional planning, or geography or environmental management or a related discipline to satisfy requirements for prescribed qualifications for the purpose of Section 101 of the Development Act 1993 . Corporate Membership of the Planning Institute of Australia or recognition as a Certified Practising Planner by the Planning Institute of Australia is highly desirable. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the professional discipline of planning or natural resource management. Experience in the application of professional judgement in the formulation and review of Code Amendments and assessment of development applications under the provisions of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 . Comprehensive knowledge of interpreting and applying legislation with a specific understanding of the Coast Protection Act 1972 , the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 , and the administrative systems supporting those Acts. Specialist professional knowledge of the implications of coastal processes and ecological processes for coastal management and planning in South Australia.
