We are seeking a detail-focused and dependable Accounts Payable Officer to join a well-established finance team based in Newcastle. This role is key to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the accounts function, with a focus on accurate processing, strong supplier relationships and supporting teams across the business. Key Responsibilities Process supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding and approvals in line with business requirements Prepare and process payment runs, including EFT payments and remittance distribution Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding invoices or discrepancies Maintain up-to-date records in the accounting system, including invoice entry and filing Respond to supplier and internal queries in a timely and professional manner Assist with month-end tasks such as reconciliations and accruals Contribute to ongoing improvements in accounts payable processes Ensure compliance with internal procedures and approval workflows About You Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role, ideally within project-based or busy operational environments Comfortable handling a high volume of transactions with strong attention to detail Familiar with job costing and invoice coding against projects or cost centres (preferred) Experience with accounting or ERP systems (please specify if known) Good communication skills with the ability to liaise across teams Organised, reliable, and confident working both independently and collaboratively Why Consider This Role?
