About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join a high-performing shared services payroll team based in Newcastle. This role is responsible for the end-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and awards, and providing exceptional support to employees and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Process end-to-end payroll, including wage calculations, back pays, and terminations Maintain and update payroll records accurately and in a timely manner Interpret and apply relevant awards, agreements, and contracts Respond to payroll-related queries from staff and management Prepare reports on earnings, taxes, deductions, and other payroll functions Administer and reconcile superannuation, payroll tax, group tax, LSL levy, and workers' compensation premiums Ensure compliance with Single Touch Payroll reporting Calculate and submit LSL reimbursement claims Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes Skills & Experience Essential: Demonstrated experience in payroll processing Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to interpret industrial agreements and legislation Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Commitment to confidentiality and data privacy Desirable: Experience using SAP payroll systems Knowledge of payroll legislation including taxation and superannuation Why Apply?
