About the Role In the role of Cook you will provide high quality catering, cleaning and laundry services within the Supported Accommodation Apartments, and in a team that provides a continuous improvement based environment. You will prepare meals in accordance with resident’s dietary requirements, maintain the kitchen area to an acceptable Food Safety Standard, and undertake supply requisition and stock control in line with budgetary guidelines. Key Accountabilities Align one’s workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland’s Vision, Mission and Values. Perform a variety of food preparation duties including the fresh preparation, cooking and serving meals for all residents. Ensure meals meet the individual dietary needs of residents. Ensure the appropriate storage and labelling of food. Cleaning and maintaining work areas, equipment, and utensils. Requisitioning and storing of food supplies. Assisting with managing kitchen finances. Carrying food supplies, equipment and utensils to and from storage and work areas. Monitoring and recording of food and refrigerator temperatures. Menu planning in consultation with residents About You Extensive cooking experience with proven ability to meet individual needs. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to food safety hygiene standards. Ability to undertake stock requisition and control within budget guidelines. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to undertake a variety of cleaning duties associated with a kitchen and dining area. Proven ability to prioritise workload and multi-task to ensure meals are prepared and served as scheduled and the needs of residents are met in a timely manner. Ability and willingness to work within the Philosophies, Policies and Procedures of Wesley Mission Queensland and the Uniting Church in Australia.
