The Opportunity The role provides you with the opportunity to work for a small federal government agency where your work will make a big impact on rural and regional Australia. You’ll extend your skills in the corporate areas of risk, audit and business continuity in an environment that encourages initiative and independent problem-solving. This is a 12-month labour hire contract position with a 6-month extension. The Role Your role will be to support the Assistant Director to deliver the organisation’s governance, risk management, internal audit and business continuity functions. Your key responsibilities: Help improve the organisation’s risk, assurance, and business continuity policies and frameworks Work with business areas to embed risk management and promote risk awareness Assist in preparing the Corporate Plan and Annual Report Support coordination of the internal audit program Manage the audit register to track and follow up on recommendations Create clear reports for senior leadership forums Support business continuity planning and testing to ensure quick recovery from business interruption events The Ideal Person To be successful in this role, you will come from a government background working in central corporate areas and have experience in one or more of the following: risk management, internal audit coordination, business continuity or governance. Your key competencies: Strong understanding of risk management principles, internal audit, practices and public sector governance Experience with governance frameworks and reporting cycles in government Experience coordinating with external audit providers High level of attention to detail Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills Clear communicator who tailors information to different audiences To be eligible for this role, you will: Be an Australian citizen Be willing to undergo a National Police Check Be able and willing to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance (if you don’t already have one) Salary / Rate $70/hr - $80/hr 12% Super 12-month labour hire contract 6-month extension Office locations: Canberra, Adelaide, Goondiwindi, Griffith, Mildura, Murray Bridge, Albury Mix of work from home and in office available How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link.
